Unable to open Pages

The latest in a number of minor problems on my Mac is that I am unable to open Pages either directly from a file, or from the right-click menu listing the documents. Any solution, please?

iMac 21.5″, macOS 10.15

You will need Pages v10.2 thru v11.1 on Catalina. In your /Application folder, click once on the Pages application icon, and then press option+command+i. What is the version reported on that info panel?

If it is an older version or Pages '09, then it is not supported on Catalina.

You have the last version of Pages for Catalina. What document type are you attempting to open from the right-click Open With menu? It is possible the launch services database has gone stale, and by booting into Safe Boot mode, then rebooting normally, that database is rebuilt, and that may fix the issue with the open with menu.
