I'm transferring video files to an external drive. I have done this in the past and the previews show the "photo" of the video, but now, they just show the Q (QuickTime) icon. Can this be changed? I'm running Monterey 12.2.1.

Finder icon view doesn't show image thumbnail
Open Activity Monitor.app
Search for a process called "com.apple.quicklook.ThumbnailsAgent"
Forced quit that process
Relaunch the Finder (hold the Control Options keys , click Finder >"Relaunch"

I was having the same issue and this solution worked for me as well. As an artist and art teacher it was driving me crazy not being able to see the thumbnail previews. Thanks very much!
