Thunderbolt-2 to USB-C
I have a 5k iMac (late 2014) with a Samsung T7 SSD connected via a USB-A v3 hub.
This is obviously not maximising the speed of the SSD. This iMac also has 2 thunderbolt-2 ports. Is there a cable or adapter that will connect this thunderbolt-2 port with the USB-C port on the SSD, to significantly increase the speed of the SSD?

Unfortunately, no. You have to use USB-A 3.0. However, for the maximum speed, you can connect the SSD directly to your Mac rather than a hub.

Depending on the revision of USB3 used by the controller of the computer, the USB drive, and the USB3 hub, USB3 can handle very fast transfers at 10Gb/s, 20Gb/s, 40Gb/s. For best results get USB3 hubs, adapters, drive docks, enclosures which support UASP.
