All playlists on MacBook have disappeared but still visible on iPhone

Fired up Apple Music on my MacBook this morning only to discover all my playlists are missing. They are still available on my iPhone. No idea how to trouble shoot this.

MacBook Pro (2020 and later)

First look for a little disclosure chevron when you hover over the word playlists in the sidebar. If you see > click it and your playlists should reappear.

Otherwise see Empty/corrupt iTunes/Music library after upgrade/crash - Apple Community.
