my microphone isn't working. People can't hear me on phone calls. Tests Voice Memos and it didn't record what i said

I have a brand new MacBook Pro that seems to be having FaceTime issues, when I call someone I can hear and see them but they cannot hear me. I make sure that my microphone is on every time but it doesn't see to work. It will also randomly have a hazard mark in the FaceTime even though I have service.

People can’t hear me well on the phone or when I leave a message for them on WhatsApp,don’t know what is going on,I didn’t drop it or have any liquid on it

Mine is doing the same thing. I had a new battery and speaker installed last weekend at Apple....I didn't realize the microphone didn't work until I was 3 hours away from the closest apple store.

Speaker phone works...

I had the same issue. Try this before taking your phone in. Connect AirPods to your phone.

open settings > Bluetooth > AirPods > scroll down to microphone (probably on automatic) click on it and select left only. Open messenger and make sure voice to text works. Now you can go back and select automatic. Hope this helps.

My iphone 7 plus have a same problem. Microphone doesnt work at all, already trying from voice note apps. But record button doesnt work. Itsnt recording at all. Cant use any call from whats apps, cellular phone, face time , and other….
