Numbers - Tables

Hi, I have a Numbers sheet with twelve tables on it. My understanding is that these basically 'float' on the sheet and can be moved anywhere. I originally set them out in four rows of three but afer using for a week or so, where all tables have increased in size, I am finding that the tables are sometimes partially on top of each other. I know I can move them to where I want but wondered if I am missing a way to keep them in their original position in relation to each other.

The only things I can think of which would work for me would be

  1. Limiting the number of rows viewable at a time on each table (they are all between 2,000 and 3,000 rows but I only need to see a portion at any one time)
  2. Some way the tables would move down the sheet as the upper one expanded

Can either of these be done? If not, any other ideas would be gratefully received.

Thanks in advance.

Usually when you have one table above another on a sheet, if you add rows to the top table the other one moves down automatically (just like you want). However, if the two table overlap by a row or so, the bottom one will stay in place and not move down. I have not tried this with 3000 row tables but that is how it works with the tables I have used. The same idea applies for tables that are side by side.

I don't know what is going on with your tables if they were not overlapping. Maybe try leaving a little more space between the tables and see what happens?
