Messages

I recently updated my phone and backed up everything but my messages got deleted so how can I get all of my messages back?

iPhone SE, iOS 15

Do you use iCloud for Messages? IF YES, then open Settings ➡️ Apple ID (Your Name at Top) ➡️ iCloud ➡️ Messages: Ensure that this is set to ON. Also, ensure that Messages is activated and set to ON in Settings ➡️ Messages.
