My mac will not finish loading, its stuck on the startup screen

When I turn on the mac, it goes to the loading screen with the progress bar below the apple logo, and it never finishes loading. That happened after OS upgrade.

I've tried using keyboard shortcuts but none of them seem to work.

Probably mac doesn't see keyboard, because batteries were changed.
