How do you recover the screen time passcode?

My son set an iphone screen password and we need to wipe the phone now but cannot figure out the passcode. How can we recover it? We have tried his apple id and mine in the forgot password but that doesn’t work. Need to erase the phone so we can send it in but cant until we figure out this screen time passcode. Appreciate any help!
