Apple One subscription without Apple News+ access

I have an Apple One subscription (still in trial period) in Canada. Apple News+ does not show as being included on my iPhone (XR) or Macbook Pro (running Catalina 10.15.7).

I have already tried unchecking and rechecking the News selection in System Preferences/iCloud (as one thread suggested). It made no difference. I have also tried logging out of my Apple ID on my Macbook Pro, and restarting/logging back in. It made no difference.

Please help.
