On-screen keyboard (sometimes) won't go away when using attached physical keyboard

In Google apps (Sheets, Docs, etc.), the on-screen keyboard appears even when I am trying to use my magnetically-attached physical keyboard (which I believe is Logitech). Typing on the physical keyboard does work, but the on-screen keyboard covers half the display which is seriously inconvenient. If I press the on-screen button to hide the on-screen keyboard, then I lose the cursor so can't type with the attached keyboard.

This doesn't occur in every app; for example it doesn't happen in Safari.

Is there a solution?

Occurred to me while writing that question that it might be a Logitech thing, and lo and behold it turns out that there is a button on the Logitech keyboard that hides the on-screen keyboard.
