I'm getting a message from mail on my new (2021) iMac saying: Mail cannot save information about your mailboxes because there isn’t enough space in your home folder.
I have 2TB of iCloud storage so that shouldn't be the problem.
I'm stuck.

I how much free space is thereon your startup disk?
You iCloud storage stores files and data not setting and not some other stuff like regular emails until you would move them to iCloud.
