I'm trying to restore my unresponsive iPad. It won't stay in recovery mode while I am trying to restore it. It keeps going back to the apple and then back to recovery mode, which cancels the restore.

As described, your iPad battery may have a critically low level of charge - and your computer USB port is unable to provide at least 12W (i.e., 2.4A @5V) necessary to reliably charge the iPad.

Begin by connecting your iPad to its Power Adapter - and allow the iPad to charge undisturbed for at least an hour, or preferably overnight, before attempting to restore the iPad.
