I read this article and did the * recommendations, but the option to setup text message forwarding does not exist.

I want to forward all of my text messages to my email address. It is easy to do with android devices, and according the the article from Apple, I should be able to forward my text messages, but the option to do so does not exist on my ipad.
it is forwarding from your iPhone to your Mac, iPad, and iPod touch.
The forwarding option is only present on iPhone.
If I understand correctly, it is forwarding from your iPhone to your Mac, iPad, and iPod touch.
Why?, quess because Mac, iPad & iPod touch do not have/use a SIM card.
Ahh, So it is impossible to forward messages to email address?
I am new to apple devices. With android devices it is easy. Seems odd the Apples does not do the same.
