Windows or Mac? Rolling back to an older build of iTunes generally requires removing the existing installation, and using a new library. iPod clickwheel games will have a .ipg file extension. You should be able to drag & drop them into your library, or use File > Add to Library. Your library needs to be authorised for the account that purchased the game. You should then be able to sync the game to your device be editing the device's sync selections.

You need to have kept a copy in your library, and you need iTunes 12.6.5.3. iPod clickwheel games were also sold on a single download basis and the onus was on you to keep backups. iTunes 12.7 removed the ability to manage clickwheel games.

Under what file do you put the backups I do have them I tried 11.4 and got error 39 and there’s no apps tab ok I’ll try 12 I guess
I tried 12.6.53 and got error 39 can I just drag and drop in a little confused as to why it won’t add the game
Thanks I didn’t bother rolling back I used a virtual machine after using different ipgs I stopped getting error 39 and they dropped right in hunky dorey.
