I have yahoo email on my iPad it won’t let me send email I keep receiving a message:

Cannot send email on iOS Hi - I’m getting an error message sending emails (on both iphone and iPad so not the device that’s the problem I don’t think). Message says that the connection to the outgoing server smtp.mail.me.com failed. And that additional servers can be configured in settings. Is there another outbound mail server address that I could try? I couldn’t find one online. Many thanks chris

SMTP outgoing mail server settings greyed out - cannot send mail - IPad Pro 12 - iOS 16.6.1 My emails have recently stopped sending on my iPad - rendering it untrustworthy - stuff hangs around in outbox (or doesn’t send at all and disappears). I can’t seem to edit the SMTP outgoing mail server details which don’t have a password (it’s all greyed out for some weird reason and I cannot turn it off). I’ve deleted and reinstalled my gmail account. No dice. I’ve tried adding a server but it tells me my details are incorrect - even though it signed me in when I reinstalled the account so the email and password must be correct- I’m losing faith in apple. Any suggestions welcome.

Your configured SMTP server name is incorrect. This needs to be changed to smtp.mail.yahoo.com is your mail settings:

Settings > Mail > Accounts > [Your Yahoo email account] > [Account] > [Outgoing Mail Server] > [Primary Server] > [Outgoing Server] Host Name - change to smtp.mail.yahoo.com
