- When updating an old card and have ongoing subscriptions, or are the organizer of a Family Sharing group, you may need to first add the new card and make it the primary payment method before deleting the old card.

I'm so sorry I posted a completely misleading set of recommendations for support documents you should read. I am glad it was not officially recommended you read them and a different list was recommended instead.

But wait; hold on.... The list that was recommended is the same list that I posted first, except I included some suggestions in what I posted as well as how you can contact Apple if those don't provide resolution. Clearly I was mistaken in providing additional assistance with your issue.
