can I check if my imac has a virus?

I noticed a warning page yesterday alerting that a trojan virus had been detected. How can I check this and resolve?

iMac 21.5″, macOS 10.15

Welcome to Apple Support Communities.

The alert was malware. Remove it using Malwarebytes for Mac.

Thanks, I deleted the page straight away so hopefully no harm done? Should I download this app from the App Store?
