My mac mini is stuck at loading screen

I found through Disk Utility found no errors, if i reinstall macOS will it wipe my existing data?

Mac mini will not restore. Attempted to restore Mac mini to factory settings. When booted up I get a picture of a folder with a question mark which I believe means there is no OS to boot from. When I restart it into recovery mode I can click to reinstall the OS however it will quit the entire operation at about 75-80% says cannot be completed.

I am currently reinstalling my Os it has been 4 hours and it’s stuck on the loading screen I have spent 4 hours reinstalling Mac OS and it still stuck on the loading screen with the line. I turned it off during the process of it reinstalling os because the same thing which is happening now happened then did I break something

If you go to Recovery Mode to reinstall you should get the option to keep your files and applications. If you have an Intel Processor thne hold down Command + R at restart. For a M1 Mac Processor, hold down the startup button until you can go to options.
