How do you get “Reminders” back if you have older iPhone with 12.6.6 os?

Should not have updated the reminders app on the iPhone. Can I go back to the prior version of reminders so that I can still use the app between my MacBook and iPhone. This is really disappointing that they are not compatible.

Compatibility: iPhone -> requires iOS 10.0 or later.
