Apps open automatically after Restart

Hey everyone!

So I have this problem with my Mac; every time I restart it or shut it down and re-open it, it opens some applications. I was wondering how to stop that since I don't need any of them to open up.

Apps launching when turning Mac on Hi everyone, I have issues with apps always launching when I turn my Mac on, even though I specifically unchecked the option "launch when turning Mac on" on each of the apps. Apps concerned include Libre office, WhatsApp, Joplin, Spotify, Mails... Some of these apps always launch, some others only occasionally. Clearly there is something I must be missing. Mac startup reopening apps from previous sessions even though that option is unchecked After the most recent update, whenever I startup my Mac it will reopen apps that were open when I finished the last session. "Reopen windows when starting a new session" is unchecked, as it always has been. Anyone experiencing the same?

How do I stop apps to open at Start Up on macOS Ventura 13.0 version? Hello everyone, I am going a little mad, can anyone please tell me how do I stop apps to open at Start Up on macOS Ventura 13.0 version? It's an iMac that I use. I have no idea why it bothers me so much but every time I open this computer it's a game of closing apps. Thanks for you help, Roxy

Two places:

On the following dialogs, deselect Reopen windows when logging back in, and then quit the dialog before it acts.
1. Restart…
2. Shutdown…
3. Log Out ____ …
In System Preferences > General panel, select Close windows when quitting an app

Hello and thank you for such a quick reply.

Even when I deselect "Reopen Windows", it does it.

I can not seem to find "Close Windows when quitting an App" in my settings. Could you send me a screenshot please?

I don't have Microsoft Teams but in Spotify, open Spotify preferences, click "show advanced settings", set "Startup and window behavior" to "No".

FWIW, there are some apps set to open on start or restart by default. Spotify being one. You have to change Spotify's preferences in its case.

The applications that open for me are, Microsoft Teams and Spotify. Could you show me how to turn the automatic re-opening off please?
