Get photos from iphone to laptop

I've never had an iphone until recently. Is the magnetc charger able to transfer data from iphone to laptop? If not, how can I get photos to laptop? Do I have o buy ANOTHER cord?

No. You need to buy a lightning cable to USB A or C depending upon your laptop configuration.
