Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 4.

I'm planning to buy a new 16" MacBook with Thunderbolt 4. I have a 15" 2017 macbook with Thunderbolt 3. In order to transfer files from the 15" to the new 16" what cables do I need? This would be to go from Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 4.

The differences between ThunderBolt-3 and Thunderbolt-4 are in how the endpoints treat the data. ThunderBolt-4 is backward compatible with -3.

The ThunderBolt-3 and -4 cables are indistinguishable from each other.
