Multi-tasking is a core feature of iPadOS 15. Unlike previous versions of iPadOS, multi-tasking cannot now be disabled.

Why would Apple do that? I have a friend who has trouble using the interface without inadvertently swiping and then not being able to get herself out of the ensuing mess. This is anti-accessibility at its finest. Now she can't use anything Apple. What a waste.

I deal with people with brain injuries to help stem their cognitive decline. I have helped stroke victims gain cognitive function using the iPad. Now I don't know what to do because many of my clients are unable to master these swipe gestures. Forget Parkinson's patients they will NEVER be able to use these :features".

This just makes me sad. I wish technology was more inclusive and tech creators made suitable interfaces for people with disabilities. It just seems to be going the opposite way - ever expandning feature libraries and soon we will need to attend courses to learn to use the gadgets. I wonder how much of the possibilities an average user even uses. We have quite specific user profiles so it would make sense to be able to customize so that the user is fully comfortable and in control of the interface.

Not being able to turn multitasking off is extremely annoying and having removed it is an insult to the user. That plus very annoying bugs in Safari have me really regret having bought my first apple device. Android may be messy but it's not insulting the way Apple is ("we know better").
