How do I download photos from the iCloud to my MAC?

How do I download all of my photos in my iCloud account to my Mac? Thank you

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.14

Open Photos app on your Mac

In the menu bar click photo/preferences

Then iCloud (little cloud !) then tick iCloud photos and download originals to this Mac

Photos will populate provided you are signed in to the same Apple ID

Thank you for taking the time tor reply. It was very generous of you to do so. I thought I had done this procedure numerous times as it is so simple, but obviously not. Now they will be a simple access to share. Hope you have a happy Halloween!
