Hi taneisha17,

Welcome to the Apple Community.

Seems you are connected to wifi ok, but not necessarily to the Internet.

(You could open and use Safari to check if you can access the internet)

You might need to check iPhone settings or Router/Modem Settings.

If it is the Router/ Modem not connecting you might need to contact your provider

For connecting over cellular ... the provider who provided your SIM card

OR

If your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch won’t update:

  • If there's not enough space to update
  • If the download takes a long time
  • If you can’t reach the update server or can’t verify the update
  • If the update doesn't complete
