How do you update the Apple Watch series 1?

Make sure your watch is connected to your phone. On your iPhone, open the watch app -> general -> software update. You will see if there is any available update for your device. I believe the latest watchOS does not support series 1 anymore. However, you might still receive securities and other minor updates from time to time. Hope this helps!
