cant get my macbook pro to turn on

I’m having the same issue - was working just fine yesterday and tried to use it today but it simply will not turn on. Wondering if this is related to an automatic update? I have been extremely careful and it could not have possibly been due to any external factors (water damage, dropping, etc).
