icloud backup failed not enough space even though there is

hey, i can’t back up my iphone even though i have no other backups and a full 5gb of free space. what should i do? no tips on the internet work, what should i do?

iPhone 8 Plus, iOS 14

Go to Settings > Apple ID > iCloud > Manage Storage > Backups > Tap your Device

You'll then see the backup size and/or next backup size (it can take a while to calculate). I'm guessing that you may have more than 5GB to back up.

For iPhone 8 Plus, you can upgrade to iOS 15, if it's compatible, or force restart it, backup and see if it works.

If issue still persists, you can erase your iPhone, if you know your password.
