Sound stuck on mute! Tried everything!

My MacBook has suddenly stopped playing out sound through the laptop and through headphones. I’ve tried all the YouTube recommended videos of resetting the MacBook and deleting audio files but NOTHING is working.

please help :(

What are the steps have you tried? Considering I do not know what you have tried, I can propose a more invasive manoeuvre :

If nothing else works, consider reinstalling the OS from the recovery panel.
