You must have a WiFi connection in order to update your iOS.

OR

If you have an iPhone 12 or iPhone 13 series device with unlimited 5G data, you are able to update using your 5G data connection

If you have neither, you should either

  • Go to an Apple Store and connect to their WiFi to complete this update or anywhere with WiFi such as a friend's house
  • Update via your computer (iTunes for a Windows PC, Finder for a Mac)
