Why is this not backwards compatible? I am unhappy that I just upgraded, and there is no patch to us my main software!

Why is this new OS not backwards compatible with 32bit programs apps? I just upgraded, and still doesn't work on this newer MacBook Pro! I use some of these programs every day, and there is no other patch of this from the developer, so I need one for my OS to use these Apps. What am I to do?

Hello. Apple has been letting users and developers know that 32-bit apps will no longer be supported after macOS Catalina since 2018. This is not a stance that will likely change. Your best bet is to contact the developer and ask for a new version or find a similar program that works on modern versions of macOS.

How To Downgrade macOS Big Sur To Catalina Or Older ...

It never pays to get too far behind in the hardware or software—it just makes it more difficult moving forward.

The answer is revert your macOS or update your software to be compatible.

As much as this might be so as it pertains to Apple, there is not a developer app upgrade for the daily software I am currently using, and it the best Bible program I have. The latest version was just given to me by the developer, and they stated that there is not another upgrade available. The latest version apparently is 32bit as well.... they didn't have a 64bit version. This is a program I count on... makes me want to return the newer MacBook Pro, and just fix the one I have if this is the case! I can't believe there isn't some kind of patch? I wasn't even suppose to be on "Big Sur" anyways, but my newer MacBook came preloaded with it. It showed through BEST BUY that is was High Sierra, but when I did my Time Machine migrate, it caused a mess with incompatibility issues on many of my programs, and this one especially!

So does this solve my issue, NO it does not! I have always like Mac as it being so simple and easy to work with, but these past few upgrade OS are for the birds! Looks the same, but operates very different. The reason I went to Mac from PC was because of it being very uniform. I see that beginning to change!

An answer would be to invest in and learn how to use a virtualization program

so your older macOS could be run inside a newer macOS. The 'virtual machine'

usually is a retail product from a known vendor online.

Then, older Mojave 10.14.6 could run under VM, in Big Sur; or maybe Monterey.

..That said, I'm no expert and haven't ever used one.

[I do read quite a bit; and use search engines, too.]

Before upgrades, it's good to know what won't be supported.
