Can't update iPhone XS

for a long time I couldn't update my iPhone XS. so today I tried the force reset to see if it would verify the update but it didn't. later, I tried the dfu mode whatever with my Mac. my Mac downloaded the software but when it was time for the phone to restore or update it kept on showing error 9. after a while the iPhone suddenly started booting. I thought it was updating, but the iPhone cleared and it was starting a fresh. now its showing me swipe up to open and each time I swipe up my screen goes white and hangs then goes back to the 'hello, swipe up to open'
