Duplicate Files created by iCloud Drive

I have multiple folders within my home folder named "iCloud Drive (Archive) - x" where x represents a number from 1 to 3. All of the folders contain identical contents and should be located elsewhere on the drive. How do I combine these folders into one after which I plan to move the contents where I think they belong (hopefully where they came from)?

iCloud Drive ( archive ) folders can't be combined , if they are having same contents , right click over second and third folder and delete them , they are unnecessarily occupying Macintosh HD space .

From the folder iCloud Drive ( archive ) - 1 select them ( use command and A keys ) , copy them ( use command and C keys ) and paste ( use command and V keys ) over finder > iCloud section > iCloud Drive .

Thanks tygb for the reply and detailed response.

The reason for the multiple iCloud Drive identical folders is most likely due to my experimenting with iCloud to solve a Photos Library that was not syncing with my iPad and iPhone Photos. Two hours with an Apple Senior Advisor did not help so I tried what I could and finally fixed my Photos Library but ended up with the several iCloud Drive folders. I had no intention to use iCloud Drive.

How would I discontinue using iCloud Drive and return all of my data files to their original location on the Mac? (I will continue to use iCloud for my Photos Library, as I did before I had my problem.)
