Series 3 watch update !

How are we to get the watch series 3 to update ? I have tried so many things and nothing is working . I’ve tried to reset , restart , and re-pair it to my iPhone 11 soo many times. I have restated my phone too. Am I out on my watch ? It will not let me pair it at all .

Series 2 watch won’t update to connect My friend gifted me her Apple Watch series 2 but when I try to pair it with my iphone12 it won’t work. I get the message to update the watch, then that I need to update my phone. But my phone has the most recent update 14.6 already. How do I set up the watch if I can’t update it?
