It says this iPad has not been backed up for 16 weeks
my iPad keeps telling me it has not been backed up in 16 weeks. I do not know what to do

Check there is enough space in iCloud for the backup by going to Settings->Account (top of settings)->iCloud->Manage Storage->Backups->iPad Name->Next Backup Size.
If there is not enough space for the backup, either delete content from iCloud in the Manage Storage section to make room, or backup the iPad to a computer instead.
