External Monitor Connections

I have a MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2020, Two Thunderbolt 3 ports) I have two large external monitors - one LG and one Apple - it only seems to recognize one monitor at a time so I can't get both to display - how do I do that? they are both plugged into my adapter bar

If it is a M1 MacBook Pro it can only have 1 external display.:

"Simultaneously supports full native resolution on the built-in display at millions of colors and:

  • One external display with up to 6K resolution at 60Hz"
