My contacts disappeared from my iPhone and I don't know why?

Open Contacts app, tap on “Groups” in upper left and see if all accounts/groups are enabled.

If that’s not the case, then go to Settings > Contacts > Accounts, then see if you have ‘Contacts’ option enabled for account where you sync your contacts from to your iPhone.
