Iphone 11 suffered from water

Hello,

the iPhone 11 I used to use (IP68) shall be water resistant. Unfortunately it has been in contact with water (20-30 sec). I've sent it to the local iSpot (Apple authorized Service) and received a message where it was stated that I must pay the fee to repair (this iPhone is 7 months old only).

What are your experiences in such a matter of a case when an iPhone had a contact with water?

No iPhone is waterproof. They are only water resistant. And, water damage is not covered by warranty so, yes, you'll need to pay to have it repaired/replaced.
