Hi there,
There are a few things that could cause Face-ID to stop working, as well as a number of things that you can try to fix it.
To try and fix your device yourself:
- Check for updates
- Check your Face ID settings for anything unusual
- Check that nothing is covering the TrueDepth camera
- Restart your device

If you are still having problems, it may be due to a hardware issue.
I would contact Apple Support or book an appointment at an Apple Store.
