Will the same USB charging cable from my IPhone 6s work on an iPhone SE?

A new iPhone SE just arrived from my carrier, Consumer Cellular and it has a charging cable that is not USB as my old iPhone. 6S I didn't know I had to order an adapter - I have many already for USB cables.

If I go out and buy an adapter, how will I connect my phone to my MacBookAir when needed?

WHY would Apple do this?!?!?

iPhone 6s, iOS 14

Yes. The SE uses the same port as the 6s.

Apple did it, precisely because for the vast majority of users it is not necessary. Like you, they already have a charger and cable that works with it.

The New cable is in fact USB type C. You can use the cable with a USB type-C power adapter if you had one, or use your old cable and charger.

There’s no reason to keep including chargers people already own. It only makes for more e-waste. It was an enivronmental decision.

technology changes.. USB C is the next thing.. lots of devices are switching to it.

if you were to buy an adapter, you'd either use that adapter to connect to your MacBook or you'd use the cable that came with the new phone.. whichever type of port you have available on the computer.

Yes, the lightning cable from your old iPhone will charge the new one
