Notes not syncing after importing Evernote file

Hello, I imported an Evernote export file (enex) into Apple Notes. All the notes appear in Notes on my Mac (latest OS version). They are under the iCloud folder. However, not all are syncing. As an example, I imported 19 notes. I see 18 of the notes on my iPhone / iPad / iCloud.com. Also, when I create a new in a folder that existed prior to me importing the Evernote file, that note isn't syncing.

So it seems after importing an Evernote file into Apple Notes, syncing isn't to iCloud is no longer working. Note, if I create a note on my iPhone / iPad, I do see the note on my Mac. But if I add to the note on my Mac, that addition doesn't get synced.

Greetings, djs71a!

From your post, it sounds like you are having issues with syncing your iCloud Notes across all your Apple devices. We’re glad that you reached out to the Apple Support Communities. We want to try and help you find the answers you need.

You said that the software on your Mac is up-to-date. To confirm, what version of the macOS is currently on the Mac? Here's how to Find out which macOS your Mac is using. What version of the iOS software do you currently have installed on your iPhone and iPad? You can find this in Settings > General > About on each device.

Are the date and time settings correct on all your devices? If not, please correct them to display the correct time/date settings. Are all your devices logged in using the same Apple ID and password? Also, are you able to access secure websites on all your devices? If you're unsure, you can check by visiting the Apple ID website and signing in with your Apple ID and password.

Do you have available space on your iCloud account? If not, lack of available space may also cause the problem you're experiencing.

Best wishes!

djs71a,

We're glad you have had a chance to confirm these settings as well. Check out this link to learn more About accounts and folders in Notes on Mac. This page offers great information about how Notes work in iCloud and how to create new notes and folders in iCloud.

Next, look over this guide with steps on how to Add or remove accounts in Notes on Mac. This link will review steps to make sure you are correctly adding notes to iCloud, so they can sync.

Last, take a look at this page on how to Import your notes and files to the Notes app. It offers specific steps and information on how to import from Evernote. You may want to verify that was done correctly.

If you have followed all these steps and still have an issue, you'll want to Contact Apple for support and service.

Kind regards!

djs71a,

Thanks for verifying and posting this information. Have you had a chance to power off all your Apple devices and restart them? Often this simple step will refresh the apps and software on the device to solve numerous problems you may encounter.

Also, from your computer, if you visit the iCloud website, and sign in, are you then able to click on Notes and see all your missing Mac notes there? If not, this means that the Mac is not syncing the notes at all to iCloud, and we will want to focus on those iCloud settings for the Mac.

Cheers!
