Photos App not grouping photos

Hi,

recently I've made the transition towards ios, however I'm still encountering some issues, most importantly the user of the stock gallery app. Thing is, my library is sizeable, roughly 90gb of mostly pictures. Issues is, it's grouped in several riders, from the DCMI folder on my old Pixel device, to documents and whatever was in my download folder, which right now all sits together in a total mess.

The prices was initially done through the move-to-ios Android app. Then I've tried using the Google photo app only; following this I've tried deleting and downloading from the Google photo app, rendering the same result.

I am aware of the possibility of making folders, however it's there a way of making apps save files to those albums only, or do I have to repeat this process indefinitely ? The fact that the original photo still remains in the main album is also a significant impediment.

And so, is there something that I've missed, or so I simply have to get used to this ? The iPhone's high storage capacity was the deciding factor in three purchase, and as if right now this issue is off so much importance to me that I'm willing to ditch the phone and return to the old one.

Thank you for your time.

Apple Photos apps will generally order them by “moment” - basically date shot or date last modified.

Yhe other grouping is by using Albums in Photos for Mac or for Windows, and then syncing them from computer to phone.

It’s the Apple ecosystem that has been used for a long time.

Any other management needs third party photo managers.

Use of words like DCMI are outside Apple workflow.

You're welcome. I came from Android and Windows and you need to take Apple in the round. What you gain from freedom from viruses and cast iron security sometimes you lose in perpetual annoyances.

Even having the Files app on an iPhone is anathema because iPhones keep all their data attached to the apps and seldom show up as files - hence the DCMI irrelevance.

Even the frustration of editing text on an iPhone still gets me but considering the overall package, IF you "lie back and think of Steve" and allow yourself to be 100% Apple, having your iPhones and iPads and Macs interact the way they do, it will pay off in the end.

My view, if you have an iPhone you need a Mac to look after it.
