photos won't upload automatically wirelessly from iphone to Macbook

how do I upload photos from iphone to macbook wirelessly? It worked fine on my old iMac

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 11.4

Hi

Check your photos preferences. In particular, the button circled should be greyed out. If not, click it.

Copy items to photos library should be checked.

iCloud should be enabled.
