How do I search my own library of movies on Apple TV?

Will apple have the decency to reintroduce a decent search function for my own film library on Apple TV in some future update of the OS?

This is a much needed feature if not, as the only way to do this is to go on the Apple TV app on macOS, visit library tab then View → ‘Show Filter Field’. But not everyone has a Mac, or have their iOS device more handy and may watch movies etc mostly on their Apple TV box. This would be useful as sometimes you have purchased a movie and since then it has changed publishers etc and so when you search it looks like you do not own it but you do in fact have it in your library.

Apple TV movie synopsis not available for purchased movies I've purchased hundreds of movies from the Apple Store and when I'm browsing the content of my purchased movie library on Apple TV 4K they don't display the movie synopsis and I forget what most of them are about. Is there a way to view the synopsis or have it display the same way as if I was searching for a movie (in the my computer App in Apple TV)? The way I'm doing it at the moment is going to the iTunes Store on my phone and searching for the movie, then playing the preview. This is painfully slow and a moronic way to find a movie to watch. Surely Apple hasn't designed it that way. It would be like the old days, going into your local video store and having to decide what to watch by the picture on the cover alone. Its bad enough having to have 2 libraries on Apple TV to search for a movie to watch (purchased movie library and movie library on my computer). [Re-Titled by Moderator]

How to search your own library for TV Show episodes on an iPad? Just how is this possible. Normal search does not seem to search your own library. if I have a library of TV Shows with episode titles I want to be able search the entire range of episode titles across all TV shows. Even if spotlight let you search across these it would be better than nothing but it doesn’t.
