I was given my old work MacBook Pro 2012 but I had to erase and start fresh, I followed the instructions but somehow I am left with OS X Base System and when I try to install MacOS I receive this error message.

Resetting NVRAM could solve the issue.
Reset NVRAM or PRAM on your Mac - Apple Support
If it doesn't help, try to check your MacBook Pro with Apple Diagnostics if it reports storage device error(VDH002, VDH004).

Thank you, I tried that but I still am stuck with my NJU the OS X Base System
I also checked the diagnostics and it came up no trouble found
I accidentally erased my Macintosh HD
