Streaming services won’t work on wifi

I have a problem with streaming services over wifi. When I use wifi and try to use streaming services, the app will load in and show the menus etc. but the movie/show won’t play. It is not an app-specific issue, because neither Netflix, prime and twitch won’t work. YouTube works, it’s just streaming apps.

The apps work perfectly fine when I use cellular data, it is the wifi or phone that’s the problem. I have tried two different networks, and it didn’t work on either of them, so I think it may be an issue with my phone.

I couldn’t see anyone else with the same problem on the internet, so I decided to ask here.

Any suggestions will be appreciated!

Hi!

As I looked more into the issue, I suspected our wifi more and more, and I found the source of the problem. As many other iPhone 12 users have experienced, sometimes the phones don’t work on a 5 ghz network. This seemed to be the problem of my phone as well. I switched to a different network, and everything seems to be fine now.

I have seen many other people on the forum having the same issue, I hope Apple will fix this issue in the near future.
