MacBook won't reboot

I have powered off the computer, waited, pressed the power button (which also is the fingerprint reader) and the apple logo comes on and then the white line indicating it's restart process starts and moves almost all the way to the being fully rebooted and it doesn't complete itself. That's where I am stuck at present. Any advice?

BTW, there is almost zero disk space left on this machine. Don't know if that plays into this.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.15

Learn what to do if your Mac starts up to an Apple logo or progress bar.

That can be a problem as well.
