Moving photo in the silly Apple iphoto app

Yes, we used to me able to sort photos in our library. Now we can't. We should have to build albums or events just to move photos. I was told that you can go in and change the time/date of a photo to force it into a different position. I had to make a duplicate of a photo in order to edit it properly and then put it back in the library. It fell to the bottom/last in. Now I can't move back up to it's original. Such BS and worse when people arrogantly tell you that this is OK.

In iPhoto Events could be sorted by:



Whereas in the Photos view the can be sorted:



And in an album by:



In Photos one can create a smart album with this criteria



and be able to sort them by these three options:
