Apple Music lossless songs are not downloading properly

Apple Music songs are only being partially downloaded to my iphone 6s Plus. There's plenty of storage available. The Music app claims they are downloaded - they are in the downloaded music section and no longer in the queue - but when I try to play them they either do not play or only play the first few seconds of the song.
